Who Runs KBT?
The governing body of KBT is its Board of Directors. It has the full power and authority to formulate policy and make decisions for the organization. Policy recommendations are made to the Board by standing committees. These committees include: Air Transportation, Highway, Local Roads & Streets, Public Transit, Rail, Waterway, Safety, Membership, Public Affairs, Transportation Conference, Regional, and Environmental.A full-time staff is based in Louisville and is charged with implementing the policy and programs adopted by the Board.
But along with all of these, KBT members run KBT. The organization encourages input and participation by members. As an organization developed to promote better intermodal transportation in Kentucky, there is no better source of input than our members who deal with the system every day.
KBT directors serve for three year terms and are elected annually at the Kentucky Transportation Conference held in January.
